Malawi Health

Although Malawi (this small African country) is making great efforts to achieve some goals of the Millennium Development including reducing child and maternal mortality more than 56,000 children under 5 still die each year in Malawi. A third of these deaths (17,000) are infants who die during the first month of life. More than 4,624 women die every year and 13 women die daily due to pregnancy complications. These figures seem to all who live in the developed world require impossible to conceive that efforts be made by the Government of that country and also by the entire international community and especially those who collaborate in one way or another in the Health camp in Malawi.

An important role in these figures down to the Traditional Midwives calls are exercised in towns and remote areas of the country in the absence of health centers to assist the birth of a baby. So the government supports them, despite some opposition as the Association of Gynaecologists because they are much needed in the country. Naturally there are already many years to provide them with training in good hygiene to prevent infection especially after the mother and baby.

16 days without violence against women: Malawi

Malawi as all most countries of the world has some level of violence and abuse practiced against women. To combat this there are organizations the country defend their rights and are constantly working to make this scourge is gone. A woman died in a district of Malawi because his uncle was beaten by planting a tree.
Although some years ago that the National Assembly of this country passed the Domestic Violence Act, allegations of violence against women and children continue to be a common theme in this country. Malawi
curious thing about it is that has a tradition of commemorating nationwide 16 Days of Activism on Gender from November 25 to December 10 of each year. Experts say that Malawi needs more than 16 days to refrain from violence against women and that makes us smile because we live in a country Spain, where such violence is almost daily. But I think it is a good initiative: The 16 days if they are truly respected could be extended to 365 with what would be an African country and world without violence against the weak. Good idea to declare this National Day.
Malawi President as Secretary General of the African Union launched in Nairobi, Kenya, the African Decade for Women. It has always been a norm for African countries to sign such agreements. What the president has returned to remember is that signing is not essential but bring these agreements into practice. And even then there is a long way to go and what they work.

THE ROLE OF THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

all learn throughout our lives, but the form varies according to age. Among children and adults there are differences in learning: one is related to mental maturity. One with the experience.
children's education and instruction is primarily based primarily on information transmission. The child is like an empty jar we have to fill. But in the adult's experience makes jar is not empty if not full enough so that learning does not need instruction but make connections between information that already has to find answers to what you need .. In some cases part of this response will be that more instruction in a specific issue or not has not dominant. But in this case education becomes self - directed is determined that the adult who wants to learn and how.
short we can say that
The adult is self-directed learning.
The adult has a large container of information through the experience.
Learning is directed toward solving problems.
The motivation to learn is internal.
We are able to learn from every experience in our lives, but not all experience is learning. We need something done with the experience that becomes not only learning and memory of an event. What is needed is a process of reflection and critical reflection.
Reflection is to assess what has happened.
There are two levels of reflection:
- Simple: acknowledge that happened without thinking through the implications it may have for a
- Criticism: analyze what has happened and the implications it may have for you.
Critical reflection can lead to a recognition that generates actions that change our behavior.
This is usually called transformative learning.
really learn when we become aware of all the elements that affect our decisions, but many of our actions are the result of frameworks that are not themselves but learned from our parents or our social environment

A NEW REFLECTION ON LEARNING

Currently one of the major problems facing teachers, which in the case of ETCOTE occurs with more intensity, is the lack of motivation students .

This problem is also another " not be forced to learn "

If teachers do not know what the learning disabilities have equal opportunities to encourage it than hamper it.

Learning is something that can not be imposed, its development occurs spontaneously, both the teacher can not force, can only facilitate it.

The teacher must not forget that you do not learn anything that is not related to the satisfaction of a necessity or a threat. But the threat blocks learning, so teachers must differentiate between challenge and threat.

When a student can not continue, what should be a pause. A reprimand is an aggravating factor.

can not learn that for which you are not prepared. There you go adjusting teaching to student's response. Student interest, indicating their readiness to learn the content that you are providing.

Whatever the subject you teach the teacher must not forget that also teaches "his nature" which can provide a good model for the student. If the teacher does not act in accordance with the recommendations given, little benefit will provide all the explanations.

Learning takes time. All learning requires their time to be assimilated so that planning is a factor.

The teacher has to be comprehensive. If it is not hard to be blocked to help a student. The teacher must have the capacity to consider how far the student has come to guide the destination.

How can the teacher be helpful? Acting as a director, guiding, creating situations or sequences designed to facilitate learning experiences. It can also act as a coach, "running" learning through reward and punishment.

When the student wants to learn and the problem is that new knowledge is not integrated, the teacher can help building bridges through which to connect:

- Bridges logic: deduction strategies linking

concepts

- Bridges analog: examples and comparisons. Establish a connection between existing knowledge and some aspects comparable to acquire new knowledge.

- Personal experience: Data from personal experience, that is to link through the experience.

A question often raised is that the learning method is better:

by discovery?

by exposure? ...

The answer probably is that it does not matter if the student achieve the objective pursued Thomas
